Pelion is a drumlin 191 feet above the Bay of Quinte Created by Glacial Movement.<\/p>\n<p>The origin of Mt. Pelion\u2019s name is Greek but the story of why it was called Pelion has been lost to time.<\/p>\n<p><strong> Samuel De Champlain passed through this area in 1615 with a war party of 500 Huron Indians and most certainly scaled Mt. Pelion to survey the surrounding area.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-12997\" src=\"https:\/\/routechamplain.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/IMG_1425-1-e1564686722534.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Cannon that sits atop Mt. Pelion is a British Royal Navy Cannon dated 1808 and was placed at the pinnacle in 1880.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: inherit; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;\">The redevelopment of Mt.
