The Ontario Champlain Scenic Route (hereinafter “Route Champlain”) is intended to promote the tourism industry Francophone and bilingual products and services in Ontario. Thus, Route Champlain is not a travel agency. The organizations presented on the Route Champlain site apply their own conditions and rates to the sale of tourist experiences. The Route Champlain has no responsibility for transactions concluded with the organizations presented on the Route Champlain sites.

1. Acceptable Use

The Ontario Champlain Scenic Route (hereinafter “Route Champlain”) asks that you to follow a few simple rules when using our Web site. The following are forbidden:

  1. using this Web site in a manner prohibited by these GTUs;
  2. using this Web site for commercial purposes;
  3. using this Web site in a manner that violates applicable laws; and

B. Policy Regarding Social Media

Route Champlain is pleased that you are following its official social media accounts. We use our social media accounts to share useful information and resources. We encourage you to interact responsibly with them, including by following this social media policy, which applies when you communicate with Route Champlain through social media.

The above GTUs apply to our social media accounts by replacing any mention of our Web site with a mention of our social media accounts.

We monitor public interaction with our social media accounts and encourage respectful interaction. To that end, any comment posted on our accounts should be respectful and related to our content.

If you post content, you are prohibited from posting or providing a link to content that:

  1. is illegal, threatening, abusive, hateful, fraudulent, discriminatory, harassing, incendiary, indecent, criminal, defamatory, knowingly false, misleading, obscene, offensive, rude or otherwise objectionable;

Route Champlain reserves the right to delete, move or modify any content published on our accounts that does not comply with this policy, or for any other reason that Route Champlain deems appropriate at its sole discretion.

Route Champlain cannot guarantee that questions or comments shared on one of our social media accounts will receive a response. You also acknowledge that any reply we provide through our social media accounts does not constitute a definitive notice or a warranty of any kind.

If personal information is gathered from our social media accounts, it will be managed in accordance with our privacy policy.

Route Champlain’s decision to follow a social media account, make it a favourite, subscribe to it, or its sharing content from another user, do not constitute support or recommendation of the account or of the content in question.

C. Privacy Policy

Route Champlain recognizes the importance you attach to protecting your privacy. The purpose of this policy is to inform you about the information Route Champlain collects, why it collects it, and the measures it takes to protect it. We handle any personal information that may be provided to us through this Web site in accordance with this privacy policy and applicable laws.

Route Champlain may change this privacy policy from time to time without notifying you. Any changes to the policy will take effect when they are posted.

When our Web site is used, our servers automatically collect limited amounts of information for statistical purposes and to control navigation. We analyze this information to improve our Web site. For example, we collect the following information: the IP address of your computer and your Internet Service Provider (ISP), your operating system, keywords entered in our search engine, pages visited, dates and times of visits, and the referring Web site. This information is not personal information and Route Champlain cannot identify you through it. However, if we detect an attempt to damage our Web site, we reserve the right to take appropriate action, including seeking to locate the identity of any person committing such an act.

Our Web site uses cookies, which are data stored on the hard drive of a Web site user’s computer that contain information about the user. Route Champlain may use cookies to send content specific to your profile when you visit the Web site.
